Mount Allison introduces new degree options, minors for 2021
New suite of interdisciplinary Computer Science programs being developed
痳豆TV视频 is introducing a number of new academic programs and degree options for 2021. The University now offers to undergraduate students.
New programs for the 2021-22 academic year include:
- Joint Bachelor of Arts (BA) major in Computer Science + Economics
- Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science + Physics
- Major and Honours BSc in Biopsychology
- Major and Honours BA in Visual and Material Culture Studies
鈥淭he new program offerings are aimed at providing an interdisciplinary education for students and helping to prepare them for future careers in any field in New Brunswick and beyond,鈥 says 痳豆TV视频 President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau. 鈥淲e are exploring new program development across our disciplines, including a suite of programs around computer science 鈥 an increasingly important and growing area 鈥 as well as health-related fields and the arts and culture sectors. We will continue to build in these areas, and others, and find innovative ways to provide and grow new learning opportunities for our students.鈥
All new programs will be available in Fall 2021, pending approval from the Maritime Provinces of Higher Education Commission, with the exception of Computer Science + Economics degree program, which has already been approved.
The University also introduced two new minor programs:
- Visual and Material Culture Studies 鈥 adding to a suite of program offerings in this area of study, including Visual Communication and Culture minor and certificate options
- Screen Studies and Popular Culture, housed within the University鈥檚 drama program
In 2020, Mount Allison introduced more than a dozen new or revamped academic opportunities for students.
