RBC Rising Tide Initiative will support experiential learning opportunities for students
SACKVILLE, NB 鈥 Students at 痳豆TV视频 will have more opportunities for experiential learning as part of their undergraduate experience thanks to a $440,000 donation from the RBC Foundation. Up and running now, the RBC Rising Tide Program will provide skills, networking and practical work experience.
鈥淭he RBC Rising Tide program will help Mount Allison to better prepare our students for the 21st century work force,鈥 says University President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau. 鈥淭his support will help ensure strategic and successful programming to benefit all Mount Allison students, helping them become confident, resilient, and career-ready graduates. Thank you to the RBC Foundation for this generous gift and opportunity.鈥
鈥淭hrough RBC Future Launch, we are helping young people unlock their potential and prepare for the jobs of tomorrow,鈥 said Kirk Muise, RBC Vice President, Commercial Financial Services, Eastern N.B. & P.E.I. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a commitment we share with Mount Allison, and we鈥檙e proud to work with the university on programs aimed at better equipping students to succeed in the new world of work.鈥
Co-ordinated by the University鈥檚 , the RBC Rising Tide Initiative will include several new programs and resources for students focusing around financial, cultural, and digital literacy as well as mental health.
New initiatives include:
鈥 A workshop series and on-campus conference;
鈥 Development of new learning opportunities in areas such as digital literacy and emotional intelligence;
鈥 Professional development, work-integrated learning and new experiential learning opportunities for students in partnership with Future Ready NB.
The University will also build on its current mentorship program, connecting alumni and students by implementing an online platform. The MtA Virtual Caf茅, with the support of RBC and Ten Thousand Coffees, will increase the program鈥檚 reach and accessibility to Mount Allison students, connecting them with alumni mentors around the globe.
鈥淧rograms and services offered through the RBC Rising Tide initiative focus on skills that are core to Mount Allison鈥檚 values 鈥 communication, collaboration, critical thinking, self-direction, global citizenship, creativity, and digital proficiency,鈥 says Dr. Boudreau. 鈥淲e look forward to implementing and sharing the new opportunities with our students.鈥
